How long does it take to get my documents?

Can I buy after my trip has already started?
Sometimes yes, but there is no backdating. If you already travelled without continuous prior cover, a waiting period may apply before protection starts.

Yes. If hospitalisation, inpatient treatment or repatriation may be needed, contact the 24/7 emergency assistance line before incurring inpatient expenses whenever possible.
What should I do if I need a doctor but I am not being hospitalised?
For non-hospital cases, you can usually go to the nearest clinic or doctor, pay the cost, keep the documents and then request reimbursement if the case is eligible.
Can I use telemedicine first?
Yes. For suitable non-hospital cases, contact the assistance service shown in your documents and ask whether Digital Doctor or telemedicine is appropriate for your case.
Which languages are available on the assistance service?
Support may be available in English, Spanish, Italian and German, depending on the assistance service and case type.
How long do claims take?
It depends on the complexity of the case and how complete your documents are. Missing information is one of the main reasons for delays.
What is the maximum emergency medical limit?
Emergency medical, repatriation and related covered expenses may be insured up to โฌ10,000,000, subject to the policy wording.
What is the excess?
The excess is the amount you pay toward an eligible claim before the policy contributes. For this Ireland product, the standard excess is โฌ80 in the relevant sections.
When does the excess apply?
