What’s Covered

This Multirisk policy is built around the protections students are most likely to need during their time abroad: emergency medical support, repatriation, defined accident and liability benefits, and limited rearrangement support before departure.

Emergency Medical Expenses

Cover for eligible emergency medical treatment, repatriation, and related expenses, with a maximum benefit of up to EUR 10,000,000.

Repatriation Support

If medically necessary, the policy can respond to eligible repatriation expenses and related emergency arrangements.

Emergency Dental

Emergency dental treatment for immediate pain relief is included up to EUR 300, subject to the policy terms.

Hospital Benefit

A hospital benefit of EUR 20 for each complete 24 hours, up to EUR 100, may apply after a covered hospital admission.

Personal Accident

A defined personal accident benefit is included up to EUR 25,000, subject to the policy schedule and conditions.

Personal Liability

Personal liability cover is included up to EUR 2,000,000, with accidental loss of or damage to property covered up to EUR 500, subject to exclusions and excess.

Rearrangement Before Departure

If your trip has to be rearranged before it starts for a covered reason, the policy can contribute to eligible additional costs up to EUR 1,000.

Death During a Trip

A defined benefit of up to EUR 20,000 applies for death during a trip, in line with the policy schedule and wording.

How Support Works

This policy includes practical support when a student needs help, whether the situation is urgent, medical, or requires follow-up documentation for reimbursement.

24/7 Emergency Assistance

If a serious illness or injury may lead to hospital admission, or if repatriation may be needed, emergency assistance should be contacted as soon as possible.

Digital Doctor Telemedicine

Students can access complimentary Digital Doctor support by telephone, video, and chat, in multiple languages, for suitable medical issues and guidance on next steps.

Hospital or Clinic?

For hospitalisation, direct billing may be arranged once authorised. For most non-hospital treatment, students usually pay first and then request reimbursement with the required documents.

Claims & Reimbursement

To support a claim, students should keep invoices, receipts, medical reports, and proof of payment. Claims should be submitted as soon as possible after the incident.

Important to Know Before You Buy

This policy is designed for first-time international students travelling to Ireland for an Academic Year / Study & Work programme. It is not presented for IRP renewals, second year, or second/subsequent registrations. An excess of EUR 80 applies to eligible claims under certain sections, in line with the policy wording.

Not Private Medical Insurance

This is not private medical insurance. It is designed to respond to accidents or sudden serious illness requiring emergency treatment while you are outside your home country.

Pre-Existing Conditions

Pre-existing medical conditions are not covered unless they are specifically included in the list of acceptable medical conditions in the policy wording.

Visa and Age Requirements

The insured person must hold a valid visa for the full duration of the policy and must be under 75 on the cover start date.

Home Country and Timing Rules

There is no cover in the home country. Holidays are covered only up to 21 consecutive days within the insured period. If the policy is purchased after the trip has already started and there has been no continuous prior cover, a 14-day waiting period applies.

Digital Doctor

Digital Doctor is a useful extra support service included with the policy, giving students faster access to medical guidance for suitable everyday health concerns.

Simple Medical Questions

Useful for common issues such as headaches, respiratory symptoms, allergies, ear pain, diarrhoea and vomiting, and common cold symptoms.

Multiple Languages

Support is available in English, Spanish, Italian, and German.

Faster Access to Advice

The service helps students get medical guidance faster and may reduce the need for unnecessary visits or long waits.

In-Person Care When Needed

If the case cannot be resolved remotely, the student is guided to the nearest appropriate medical centre for in-person treatment.
