Eligible emergency treatment may include hospital care, urgent doctor visits, necessary tests, ambulance costs, prescribed medication related to a covered emergency, and medically necessary repatriation, subject to the policy wording.

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered?

In general, no. Pre-existing conditions are usually excluded unless they fall within the acceptable conditions framework set out in the policy wording.

Is emergency dental included?

Yes. Emergency dental treatment for immediate pain relief may be covered up to the policy limit, provided the claim meets the policy conditions.

Does the policy include repatriation?

Yes. You must be under 75 on the cover start date. If you turn 75 during the insured period, cover continues until the end date shown on your certificate.

Does cover apply in my home country?

No. There is no cover for trips or holidays in your home country during the insured period.

Are there limits on holidays during my stay?

Yes. Holidays are limited to a maximum of 21 consecutive days within the insured period, and your trip length cannot exceed the insurance period shown on your certificate.

Do travel advisories affect cover?

Yes. If official travel restrictions or advisories apply in a way that affects your travel, cover may be restricted or unavailable under the policy terms.

Do my personal details need to match my official documents?

Yes. Your full name, dates, and other personal details should be accurate and consistent with your passport, visa or entry documents, and school records.

How do I book?

When does cover start?

Cover starts from the cover start date shown on your certificate of insurance, provided your booking has been successfully processed and your documents have been issued.

Can the policy be backdated?

No. The policy cannot be backdated, and there is no cover before the issue date shown on your insurance documents.

Can I buy after my trip has already started?

Sometimes yes, but there is no backdating. If you already travelled without continuous prior cover, a 14-day waiting period may apply before protection starts.

Can I use this page for stays over 90 days?

No. This page is only for the Spain Short Term route. If your stay is 90 days or more, you should follow the Long Term route instead.

How do I make a claim?

Follow the claims instructions in your policy documents and submit your claim with all supporting evidence as soon as possible after the incident.

What documents do I usually need for a medical claim?

Usually a medical report or certificate, itemised invoice, receipts or proof of payment, and prescriptions where relevant. Keep everything from the start.

What should I do if I need a doctor but I am not being hospitalised?

For non-hospital cases, you can usually go to the nearest clinic or doctor, pay the cost, keep the documents, and then request reimbursement if the case is eligible.

Can I use telemedicine first?

Which languages are available on the assistance service?

How long do claims take?

What is the cancellation limit?

Is there an excess?

What are the hospital benefit, personal accident, and emergency dental limits?

Hospital benefit may be up to โ‚ฌ100, personal accident up to โ‚ฌ25,000, and emergency dental up to โ‚ฌ300, depending on the exact claim and policy conditions.
