Usually not under travel-style student cover. Many of these policies are designed for academic trips outside the insured person’s home country, and they clearly restrict or remove cover while the insured person is in that home country.
This matters because students sometimes assume that if the policy is active, it applies everywhere. In many cases it does not. Travel-style student cover is often linked to the trip and destination context, not to ordinary life back home.
If you are planning time in your home country during the insured period, check the documents carefully instead of assuming it is covered.
